I've always been passionate about reusing materials, giving new perspectives to what has been used. That’s why I thought this contest could be a great opportunity to showcase what I can conceptualize on a topic I’m passionate about, as a self-taught artist who has never participated in anything like this before, apart from creating things for myself. For this project, I want to create a city map using materials found in thrift stores around the city, which serve as evidence of the items donated by current residents. These materials represent their time in this city and how Las Vegas has left, or will leave, its mark on their history.
