Danny Roberts

Danny Roberts is a contemporary gallery artist, and has been a part of the growing art scene in Las Vegas for over ten years, selling originals and prints to collectors all over the world.  He is also a prolific digital artist for graphic work, video game production art, and concept art.

Masterful at creating surreal figurative and edgy visions, much of his work carries very powerful social commentary or passionate action.  He works primarily in Oils, with a strong focus on deep colors and moving forms that give his paintings an almost cinematic nature.  He is influenced and inspired by many movies and other artists of many genres, action and fantasy and sci-fi, or comics, books, news and pretty much any imaginative art.

His process uses some photo references on occasion, and Photoshopped mockups, and eventually re-sketched from scratch on the canvas.  He uses acrylic undertones for the base work, before working a few layers of oils completely.  Every painting is coated and protected in clear semi-gloss Gamvar varnish/finish medium. The paintings themselves are always high quality gallery grade canvases, with extra work usually going into continuing the painting's forms and colors on the side edges of the canvas, so that they can hang without a frame for a very contemporary look.
